Eye on Ethics: The Limits of Professional Competence

Abstract
Clearly, social workers should offer professional services only when they have proper education, training, knowledge, and skills. To do otherwise would be irresponsible. Social workers should have at least minimally acceptable competence to meet clients’ needs and perform the duties required by their employers.
