Irving Jay Fain devoted himself to a wide range of business, civic, and philanthropic activities. His papers, 1940-1970, reflect primarily the latter two interests. The collection is arranged into material pertaining to various organizations, and available through Special Collections at Rhode College's James P. Adams Library.
This collection spans 1957 to 1965 and includes items related to the Rhode Island Fair Housing Bill. It consists of taped recordings of discussions and debates, and documents from the organization Citizens United for a Fair Housing Law in Rhode Island. Tape recordings were originally broadcast on local radio and television stations including WJAR, WEAN, and WPRO-TV.
Materials presented here do not represent the entire collection. For me information, please contact Special Collections at Rhode Island College.
