Description
In this video, Henry Barnard School (HBS) students and faculty recite a narrative history of the school, over a slide show of historic images and documents. The narrative begins with HBS's establishment as the Rhode Island Normal School's "Observation School" in 1898. It traces the history of the school over the following 123 years and culminates in 2021, as the school leaves its association with Rhode Island College and the Feinstein School of Education and becomes a part of The Providence Country Day School.
This narrative is an update to The History of Henry Barnard Readers Theatre, originally written and directed by Sharon Fennessey in 2003. Updates were written by Kristin McBride in 2021.
A full listing of student and faculty readers appears in the credits at the end of the video.
