These posters represent the work of second-year counselors-in-training who have completed the Professional Impact Project. Students are enrolled in Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Certificate of Graduate Studies – Advanced Counseling. CRITICAL TRANSITIONS IN TRAINING: STUDENT'S USE OF EVIDENCE-BASED CLINICAL CARE Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) reflects the integration of best available research evidence with clinical expertise in the context of patient characteristics, values, and preferences. EBP promotes effective clinical practice by applying empirically supported principles of assessment, case conceptualization, therapeutic alliance building, and clinical intervention. In recent times, there has been an increased emphasis upon training and dissemination of EBP. Existing research demonstrates that effective counselor training is critical for learning EBP to enhance client outcomes. The rationale of this program is to advance training of EBP. Students enrolled in Advanced Clinical Practicum in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Department at Rhode Island College will present their Professional Impact Project (PIP). The presentations will focus on background of the intervention, implementation of the intervention, outcome data, and critique.
