Description
A landscape view that shows the abandoned city of Ribeira Grande and the current village Cidade Velha. On the top of the hill you can see the ruins of Real do Sao Filipe Fort, a fort that was built to defend the city from attack, but ultimately proved inadequate. Towards the shore the ruins of an old cathedral, the first in Cape Verde, are visible.
