Description
This aerial photograph shows Fort Sumter, a historic military fortification that is best remembered as the first battle of the Civil War. Though a coastal fortification, Fort Sumter, located in Charleston Harbor, is accessible only by boat. It is now a National Monument dedicated to the history of the Civil War and the battles fought there.
