This lecture was presented as a part of the Dialogue on Diversity Committee of Rhode Island College Spring Lecture series. John H. Bracey, Jr. evaluates America's failure to navigate the legacy and perpetuation of slavery in America. He discusses the consequences of racism on the nation and its peoples, evaluates African-American perspectives and their contributions to history, and emphasizes slavery's effect on the militarization of and violence in America.
