Abstract
"It was an impressive ending to a birthday celebration that will long be remembered. The 350th anniversary of the founding of the capital city of Providence and the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations drew to a fitting close with fireworks on the State House lawn, remarks by the governor and the singing of Auld Lang Syne by the audience of 10,000 to welcome in the New Year."
