A planned community in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, Radburn has a system of walkways to encourage pedestrian traffic. This 1979 photograph shows walkways in use on a rainy afternoon. The fronts of homes in Radburn face the walkways, while the backs are on cul-de-sac’s which allow for motor vehicle access.
