Description

An example of HUD Section 235 housing in South Providence. The HUD Section 235 program was developed to aid lower income families by use of mortgage subsidy payments. The neighborhood has traditionally been home to low-income families and immigrant populations. As of 1990, median income in the area was $18,887, with 30.1% of families living below the poverty level.
