Description
1944. Inscribed on reverse by artist. The reverse side of this photograph has affixed to it [glued] a piece of paper reading: "Elizabeth Prophett", "Taille direct in alabaster", "15 in. without base". When holding the photograph to a light source, additional writing can be seen underneath the glued top sheet. It reads similarly, though with the addition of the date: 1944. This photograph may have been taken by photojournalist Griffith Davis (1923-1993) in Atlanta, Georgia.
