  Box 03 contains one (1) bound letterpress book, which is represented here in full - excepting approximately 150 blank pages at the end of the book. About 900 letters are represented, with topics covering the business and personal life of Nathaniel Terry Bacon, the vast majority appear to relate to his involvement with the Solvay Process Company. The first 45 (approximate) pages are a hand-written index arranged alphabetically by last name (generally) with corresponding page ranges following. Correspondence, which begins after the index, dates between 1895 and 1900. The letters are arranged chronologically. The majority of correspondence is a letterpress copy of a handwritten letter, rendering some correspondence virtually illegible. When possible, typed correspondence has been made text searchable in this digitized copy. In some instances original correspondence and loose letterpress pages were stored between numbered letterpress pages. This digitized copy retains the original order, including the inserted pages.
