Description
Local people plant "leucina" seedlings in a part of the island that is a volcanic caldeira on property owned by John Peter Santos. Leucina is a non-governmental reforestation experiment conducted by David Baxter, Pedro Almeida, John P. Santos and Joe Alves Jr. (see slide 81-053). A volcanic caldeira is a large crater formed by volcanci explosion or by collapse of a volcanic cone.
