Description

The Spa Beach in St. Petersburg, FL is open year round and is a popular beach for locals and tourists. The beach is also connected to the Spa Beach park seen in the foreground. The location of the beach and the need for more tourism dollars coming into the city led to the renovation of the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in 1973 after it had been run down and closed for a number of years (located on right side of photo). This area has since been built up with more hotels, tourist attractions and a marina for boats.
