Description

The Point Street Bridge spans the Providence River connecting Wickenden Street with Davol Place. The bridge was built in 1872 as part of a major urban renewal which also included street and highway improvements. The Industrial Trust Building seen mid-left in this photo is a well-known facet of the Providence skyline, as it was for over twenty years the tallest building in New England.
