A History of Named Places And Architectural Development: Rhode Island College, 1958-2012

Elizabeth Warburton, Preservation Society of Newport County

Abstract

Elizabeth Warburton, an alumna of Rhode Island College, created this publication of the history of the buildings that make up the Rhode Island College campus. Its purpose is to bring to light the history that is all around the campus through its architecture. It is a metaphorical visual telling of the history of the growth of the college and its excellence in educational programs. Complete with photographs of the buildings and those they were named after, it teaches how the story of the college is told through its physical presence and by listening to its places and buildings.
